Speed Trailers
The North Brunswick Police Department has advised that the speed trailers are solar powered and they do periodically shut down in order to recharge. While it may appear at a given moment they are not working, please be patient and expect they will activate once charged.

Tulip Drive Property Maintenance
Today all of the grass was cut on the private lot at the corner of Tulip Drive and Finnegans Lane. You should also note that we have had a tree pruned at the vacant property just prior to Tulip Drive, improving the visibility of oncoming traffic.

Tulip Drive Property Maintenance
We have successfully notified and engaged the owner of the private lot on the western side of Tulip Drive to perform property maintenance. You should see that the grass has been cut along the 10-foot public right-of-way along the roadway. At our direction, the property owner will be returning to cut the grass at the intersection of Tulip Drive and Finnegans Lane.
Resident Comment
I just read an article in the Sentinel about the pedestrian/traffic issues we are facing on Finnegan's Lane. I agree that it is a huge issue, especially with the growth of business on that street. In addition, I feel Rt. 27 is facing similar problems between Finnegan's Lane and Cortelyous Lane. Contributing factors to the issue being growth in businesses, population growth, and Rt. 27 being a bus route. I am constantly seeing people unsafely cross the highway. The traffic is too heavy at times for even vehicles to make left turns onto Rt. 27 causing the drivers to make dangerous turns. I propose putting in a light at Amber Way and Westminster Road crossing over Rt. 27 as well as sidewalks connecting Cozzens Lane to Finnegan's.

Resident Indicates that Additional Time with Traffic Trailer is Required
From an Email to Director of Community Development Michael Hritz
Hello Micheal
Thank you for posting my appreciative phone call on your
blog post! Also, to note, I see that your traffic trailer is no longer on Finnegans
Lane. Perhaps you have taken it to read the data on speed offenders! Just
note that it was only there for about a week, and I did notice that the traffic
over Memorial Day weekend was VERY light compared to normal weekends. Pls
take this into acct when analyzing you data, and perhaps the trailer needs to
be set up on non-holiday weekends too.
Thanks and thank you for really addressing the community's
concerns.

Freeholder Director Rios and Freeholder Tomaro confirm that Finnegans Lane issues have been referred to Middlesex County Engineering Department
This morning at the Pancreatic Cancer Walk I had the opportunity to speak with Freeholder Director Ronald Rios and with Freeholder Charles Tomaro, who is Chairman of the County's Infrastructure Management Committee. Both acknowledged that they have received the letters and petition expressing concerns regarding Finnegans Lane. Both indicated that they have referred the matter to the County Engineer for consideration and study.
A follow up letter will shortly be sent through official channels from the Township of North Brunswick to Freeholder Tomaro and Freeholder Director Rios. Township engineers and Planners will be available to work with both the county and with South Brunswick to try to acquire a light at Tulip and Finnegans (if viable) and crosswalks along Finnegans.
